Flavors of Spring: Silhouettes

Spring runways were very vibrant this year with bold bright colors, along with different prints and patterns that were pretty amazing. Spring colors enables us to experiment with new looks and color combinations. I generally stick to three colors max to avoid the girly, Rainbow Brite look. I prefer more bold solid-color pieces—like a cardi and skirt, wrap dress or demure one-piece suit—make simple dressing look glam. Many designers from Christian Siriano to Balenciaga are coming out with some of the newest and hottest fashions of spring 2012 trends.

What do you think of this season trends?

Silhouettes: Platform pumps, peep-toe booties and flats, cork wedges, boat shoes and western inspired boots
Colors: Bold brights, neons, purple, blue, orange, coral, yellow, red, teal, silver, beige and browns
Details: Color-blocking, animal prints, stripes, glitter, buckles, knots, bows, jewels and flowers
Materials: Jute, denim, satin, raffia, woven, canvas, as well as faux cork, wood and patent leather
Handbags: Animal print totes, raffia satchels, printed cross body bags and satin clutches
Other accessories: Watches, sunglasses, sun hats, light-weight scarves, colorful layered jewelry, as well as flower pins to accessories lapels, shoes, handbags and scarves.

  2. My God those shoes! My personal stylist tried to get me in some six inchers the other day and I turned her down because of the pain, but these look like they'd break my ankles and I STILL want them!
